Oh guys, how much I've miss you all! I am so sorry for this hiatus as I have been revamping my lifestyle and building new habits. I guess sometimes you need to step back and re access your life and your priorities. My birthday is coming up this Saturday and I have been working on some things to help me make this new year count for me.
First- joined a new gym- Hello Equinox Fitness!! I am in love with this gym and have been going almost everyday. So far I have been doing a lot of cardio and I have been taking some classes like Pilates and Powerstrike with one of the hottest trainers I have ever seen- Omar Sandovar (YOU ROCK)! I am beyond excited of my new commitment and hope to see results in the next couple of months.
Second-I have also been changing my eating habits which is the hardest thing for me to do since I love going to trendy restaurants and trying new foods. Two of my friends are trying to convert me to being Vegan...are any of you guys Vegan? If so please give me your insight. I love meat but I have been cutting back big time on it.
Third- I am in the search of changing industries again and leaving the Finance sector and going back to what I really love- fashion and interiors. So I am working on my new business and perhaps getting back into designing for a top fashion designer. I will keep you all posted!
Fourth- I've been having this travel bug forever and I really want to take a year off or more to explore the world...so I am in the saving mode to make this happen. I am so addicted to all these traveling blogs that document people's one year off journeys, it's so inspirational. I have a couple friends that have done it and I can't wait till I embark and experience the world!
I am very excited for the things that I am finally taking seriously and feeling committed to building new habits that will make my life richer!

I have a lot of yummy postings for you guys coming up...stay tuned!
I leave you with this quote that I love.
It is time for us to stand and cheer for the doer, the achiever, the one who recognizes the challenge and does something about it.

I hope all these changes work out for the best! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on you making a bold commitment to yourself - the investment will be priceless. While I am not a vegan (yet) I did a 30 day rawfood vegan detox by Karyn Calabrass (KarynsRaw.com) it is very informative and is a perfect way to test the waters with veganism. My experience was an amazing one and currently working on that as well. There's this lightness you feel when not consuming animal protien (although it's so yummy!) You should definately try it. As for Omar is is a major hottie! Congrats again :) Good luck & Godspeed on all your endeavors!

That would be amazing if you could travel for a year. That is something I'd also love to do since the travel bug has hit me as well. I can't commit to a whole year as yet but I do have a few trips lined up for the rest of the year.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to you on your new endeavors!

What a great post! So glad to hear positive happenings and goings on. That's fantastic that you joined the gym and are ACTUALLY enjoying it, lol, it's tough to get fit! Obviously, I'm a big fail in that dept, thank goodness at least i'm skinny, but still, i can't run from here to there without feeling out of breath, haha.
ReplyDeleteGirl I'm so excited for and your possible upcoming fashion design opportunity, now's the time to make it happen. If you're not happy in your current place, must keep it moving to happier grounds..
ANd the vegan thing, I would say forget that, one thing is vegetarian and another is vegan which in my opinion is almost deprivation. You know I don't eat meat or drink plain milk but take away my cheese and every single food that has an ounce of milk or eggs and I feel that's just no way to live, lolol.. but i admire the people who can do it.
Anyway, looking forward to upcoming posts!
Hugs..

I've also missed your posts these past few weeks. I've also been setting goals to change my habits and giving myself more love. Unfortunately my blogging has taken a back seat to all these goals, but I hope to balance things out soon. I actually thought about you this weekend when I found the same exact stool you found a few months ago at Home Goods. I found it for only $30 and was so sad cause I was away for the weekend and couldn't fit it in my car :(. Bueno linda hablamos lueguito ;)
ReplyDeleteI wish I could go on a year's long vacation to see the world. *sigh* I will have to live vicariously..
ReplyDeleteGetting back to your passion is great. I wish you much success.
We're console twins. LOL I'm going for a glam-Asian-rustic dining room.. having the darnest time finding a rustic farmhouse table that I like. Boo!
Missed you in blog world! I think it is amazing that you are on the cusp of making a career change to do something that you love...I am struggling with that right now.
ReplyDeleteIt has always been my dream to travel for a year, but my life has definitely taken a turn where that is not possible for quite some time haha, so I hope you get to fulfill that dream so I can live vicariously through your travels!
I love your goals! I've been a vegetarian for almost 2 years now and i can't even go back to eating meat ever, i can't even stand the smell of it anymore! You have to be more creative with the food choices but I love the challenge and I discover new things every day! As for being a vegan, NOT A CHANCE for me, as i can't give up really amazing mozzarella and the all important French butter, LOL.
ReplyDeleteI've come to some personal realizations about myself (to put it accurately, just admitting and accepting what I knew all along) when it comes to how I want to live my life and who I want to become. I've had to make some hard decisions about it, but at the end of the day, I am the only person who wakes up with me everyday, so I have an obligation to myself to wake up happy, and fulfilled.
And travel, Jesus don't get me started! I've got so many trips planned for the next few months and I'm with you on the savings situation! I miss my backpacking days when I was in my early 20s and the gypsy lifestyle has always been my life since I was born, so I might as well keep going!
Good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes from this!
